The Impact of Organizational DNA Components on Organizational Reputation in Palestinian Universities.

Abstract

The study aimed to examine the impact of Organizational DNA components on the organizational reputation of Palestine Polytechnic University. To achieve this objective, a questionnaire employed as the primary data collection instrument. The study population consisted of 504 employees working at the university, and a comprehensive survey approach adopted by distributing the questionnaire to all members of the population. 262 valid responses were retrieved, representing 52% of the original population. The study followed a descriptive-analytical methodology.

The findings indicated that the components of Organizational DNA highly present at Palestine Polytechnic University. The results also revealed that the level of organizational reputation at the university is high. Furthermore, the study demonstrated the existence of a statistically significant effect at the significance level (α ≤ 0.05) of Organizational DNA components, collectively, on the university’s organizational reputation. This effect reflected through the organizational structure, information, and motivators as key components of Organizational DNA. In contrast, the dimension of decision rights showed no statistically significant effect on the organizational reputation.

The study concluded with several recommendations, the most prominent of which is the need to strengthen the separation between the strategic role of the Board of Trustees and the executive role of the university administration. It also recommended that the Board of Trustees establish clearer criteria for evaluating the performance of the university administration in alignment with predefined objectives, thereby enhancing internal governance within the university.
