Abstract

The research reads adornment as a symbol and links it to its social and cultural context, and these symbols are manifested through adornment tools and jewelry. This research was chosen as one of the results of our research  Jewelry in the Poetry of the Mu'allaqat), yet our study here will cover different poetic models with broader topics and a different symbolic perspective. Adornment in the poetry of the Mu'allaqat is broader than jewelry, and its symbols require a different, in-depth reading. This title was chosen to trace those types of adornment as they represent the collective sentiment shared among individuals in that era. The study was organized into sections, where the first section traces the concept of symbolism in its social and cultural types, the second section is titled: Symbolism of Adornment Socially in the Mu'allaqat, and the third section is titled: Symbolism of Adornment Culturally in the Mu'allaqat. The research required clarifying the benefit and function of this symbolism, which was covered in the third section titled: The Importance of Social and Cultural Symbolism and Their Interconnection. Finally, the conclusion is followed by a list of sources and references.
