The Arabian Gulf constitutes the only sea port for Iraq, through which its commercial ships transport goods and luggage to other countries, but this only sea port was subjected to narrowing after the establishment of Mubarak Port, as this port worked to reduce the amount of goods entering and leaving the port and in a blatant attack on the navigational rights of our country, Iraq, in accordance with the rules of the international law of the sea and bilateral and collective agreements. Our research tried to shed light on this. On the most prominent points of contention between our country, Iraq, and neighboring Kuwait, with a review of all relevant historical events and an explanation of the significance of the establishment of the large Al-Faw port and the great economic benefits that will accrue to Iraq from its establishment. The research also included a discussion of the extent of the legality of establishing the Mubarak Port in accordance with the rules of international law.
